Frii Design TriLens Review

Randy Roy

During a recent cruise around the Fiji Islands, I had the opportunity to observe the ship’s professional photographer using a unique lens and camera holder from Frii Design, called the TriLens. Impressed by its functionality, I decided to purchase the lens holder upon my return. Here you can read my personal TriLens review.

After testing the lens holder during several walks in my local area, I was thoroughly impressed by its efficiency in facilitating quick lens changes. Recognizing its potential, I subsequently purchased the camera bracket to complement the lens bracket.

Recently, I embarked on a trip to Spain and Portugal, where I put both the lens bracket and camera bracket to the test during the challenging Camino Trail. Throughout the journey, the Frii Design products performed flawlessly, providing comfort and convenience.

In conclusion, I highly recommend the Frii Design TriLens lens and camera holder system to professional/Advanced photographers seeking an efficient and reliable solution for managing their equipment during outdoor shoots.

Used on a trip to Africa

During a recent expedition to Kenya, Rwanda, and Zimbabwe, I had the opportunity to extensively utilize the Frii Design Trilens holder, particularly while visiting the Golden Monkeys in Volcano National Park. This journey involved a hike of approximately 2 kilometers round trip through dense and challenging vegetation, as well as over several fallen bamboo culms. The Trilens holder significantly enhanced my experience, allowing for seamless transitions between my 70-200mm f/2.8 and 24-70mm f/2.8 lenses.

This efficient switching capability enabled me to capture a variety of images with ease, all while drawing the attention and curiosity of fellow photographers in my group due to the holder’s innovative design.

Following my time in Rwanda, I spent four days in Doha, Qatar, where the Trilens holder proved to be an indispensable asset while navigating the bustling Souq Waqif markets. The design of the holder was particularly advantageous in the small and often crowded shops, as it allowed for greater mobility and flexibility.

Without the bulk of a traditional camera backpack, I was able to fully immerse myself in the vibrant atmosphere and rich cultural experiences of the market, effortlessly capturing the essence of my surroundings. The Trilens holder not only enhanced my photography experience but also facilitated a more authentic engagement with the local environment.
